Wood Percussion Frogs

Percussion Frogs—Inspired by the ancient meditation drum.

Hold the frog by its hind legs, facing away from you. Use the large end of the handle to stroke the ridges from back to front.

This will create a distinctive croaking sound and each croak gets progressively deeper depending on the frog’s size.

Each frog is hand carved from solid wood, and then crackle glazed and painted with acrylic. This application process causes the top coat to achieve a split (toad-like) texture.
